Researching sustainable textiles the essence of the issue came down to the underlying cycle of textiles. Focusing on the informed decisions made during conception all the way through to decomposition. How the textile enters and leaves the Earth’s cycle and contributes back to the Earth and its resources in a positive manner.
This installation emphasizes the concept of an underlying cycle and how informed decisions made by the user can help connect, meaning, message and impact of the experience. This system in place allows for documentation of the interaction through an encoded system. The end result of the installation is an artifact that will live on for an extended period of time carrying the message of sustainable textiles.
